Round 1: Broke 1
The Birds and the Bees
The Birds and the Bees
Brandi Broke is the daughter of the Sims 1 tutorial couple, Bob and Betty Newbie. Brandi's husband Skip died in a tragic pool accident, leaving Brandi to raise their two boys alone. Let's see how the Brokes are doing..
Me: Hey, Brandi.
Brandi: *yakking in the toilet*
Me: Oops, excuse me. I guess I caught you at a bad time.
Brandi: It's ok. I thought I had food poisioning from the cheesecake I ate last night while watching "It's a Wonderful Sim Life." But I think I'm pregnant.
Me: You're pregnant and you ate cheesecake? Brandi, don't you know what happens when pregnant Sims eat cheesecake?
Brandi: Yes, and it's fine. I want three of my children to graduate from college. If Dustin can't pull up his grades, he won't be able to go, but hopefully Beau and the twins will.
Me: Well, if you're not upset about being a widowed, unemployed mother of a wayward teen, a precocious toddler and twins, I guess I shouldn't be upset either. I'll go check on the boys.Dustin: Dus-tin.
Beau: Da-da?
Dustin: No, Beau, Dus-tin.
Beau: Da-da?
Me: Be patient with him, Dustin. He doesn't remember your dad.
Dustin: We've invited some of the neighbors over to celebrate Beau's birthday. I wanted to impress them by showing them that he can say my name.
Me: Well, keep at it then.
Me: Your guests have arrived. Oh, great, I see Cassandra fawning over Darren. When will that girl learn?
Everyone: *singing* Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday, dear Beau-oh. Happy Birthday to you!
Me: *singing offkey* And many, many more!
Everyone: *stares at me blankly*
Me: Happy Birthday, Beau. It's time for an updated family photo, so get out of your jammies.
Me: Aw, Dustin. First love is sweet, but no doubt you've heard of the Alphabet Twist.
Dustin: Yeah, I heard. Angela and I can't get married. Is it still ok if we go steady?
Me: Yes. I won't break up any existing teen couples, but I don't want you to get too attached. Also, you might have heard that I have gotten over my hack shyness and installed ACR.
Dustin: Sweet!
Me: Now, ACR does give you teens the ability to, um, engage in activities normally restricted to the adults.
Dustin: You're talking about woohoo?
Me: *blushing* Yes. *blushing*
Dustin: Are you about to give me the birds and bees talk? I'm in high school, for Will's sake. I know where babies come from!
Me: Good. So let's make sure that your mom is the only one bringing babies in this house this week, ok?
Dustin: Ok.
Cassandra: Going steady is a serious step, Dustin. You shouldn't get Angela's hopes up by making promises about the Homecoming Dance, Spring Break, and Senior Prom unless you're sure you want to stick with her.
Dustin: Huh?
Me: Don't worry about her. She has issues.
Beau: I saw my brother and Angela kissing.
Kelly: Yuck! They're going to get cooties.
Me: Ah, to be so young and innocent again.
Brandi: Dustin, I know Angela is your first love, but I don't want you getting carried away. Your father died before he could have the birds and bees talk with you. I'm here to answer any questions you may have.
Dustin: Geez, Mom, why does everyone want to talk about this stuff when I'm playing pinball?
Me: Babies time!
Kelly: I'm never kissing a boy ever!Me: No surprise, but the cheesecake worked.
Me: Aw, welcome Christopher and Chloe. You're the first set of twins in the Uberhood!
Me: Brandi, you just had twins, and you're taking a job?
Brandi: Dina pulled some strings and got me a job at her law firm. I couldn't pass it up. Now that I have four kids, we really need the money.
Me: Dustin, you're taking a job too?
Dustin: Watching Mom deliver the twins really got me interested in medicine. I think it would be cool to run a hospital.
Me: Good for you. I think your mom will be pleased to have a doctor in the family.
Me: And you get a promotion on your first day. Well done. You're really turning things around, Dustin. I'm proud of you.
Me: Dustin, do you think it's wise to play sick your second day on the job?
Dustin: I don't have a choice. The stupid nanny left and Mom isn't home from work yet.
Beau: Whee!Me: Birthday time already? It seems like they were just born yesterday! (Sorry I couldn't resist.)
Dustin: Yes, you could have.
Me: And Christopher transitions with a big smile!
Me: Now, it's Chloe's turn.
Me: Happy Birthday, Chloe! Another big smile!
Beau: You forgot to take our family photo when the twins were babies.Me: Gee, thanks, Beau. I was hoping no one would notice.
Beau: When you go to college, if someone offers you beer, remember to just say no.
Dustin: What, you too? Geez!
Me: Why, Beau, you're reading! It's so refreshing to see a young person in a book rather than playing video games or watching TV.
Beau: The twins are asleep and Mommy is taking a nap. Dustin says if I wake any of them up, he'll break my legs.
Me: The twins are awake.
Beau: I didn't do it. I swear to Will!
Me: Happy Birthday, Christopher!
Me: Happy Birthday, Chloe.
Me: *gushing* Oh my goodness, you two are soooooooooooooo cute!
Chloe: We can't hold this pose forever!
Christopher: I don't think I can feel my cheeks anymore.
Brandi: Honey, it's been so busy with the twins that I feel like I completely missed your childhood. I can't believe you're going to be going to high school soon.
Beau: So, Mommy, where do babies come from?
Me: I'm outta here!
Chloe: Mommy says we get to ride the bus to school tomorrow. It's going to be so fun!
Me: Chloe, I don't think there's another kid in the hood as enthusiastic about school as you.
Christopher: What does thoos-ee-as-tik mean?
Beau: *offstage* The daddy puts what where?
Me: Later, peeps.
Dustin: I hope my family is ok without me.Me: You've done a good job helping to raise your brothers and sister. Now, it's time to take care of yourself. I'll see you at Academie Le Tour. And hopefully, by the time I get back to your household, Brandi will be done with all of her "talks."
Happy Holidays, everyone! I hope everyone is having a better time than I am. The day after Christimas, I caught a nasty stomach virus from my parents and unfortunately passed it on to my fiance. I'm finally starting to feel better.I have gotten in a lot of playtime because I'm on vacation from work until January 5th. I've already played through the rest of the households in Pleasantview, so I've got a lot of blogging to catch up on.
