A Man, A Plan, A (Birth) Canal

Me: Hey, Dina. I'm sorry your plans to marry Mortimer got messed up by his wife returning, but at least you got some of his inheritance money.

Dina: I have my own plans for making my fortune. Contrary to what this town thinks, I wasn't after Mortimer for his money. I was after him for his genes.

Me: Come again?

Dina: I want to have a baby, and I want my baby to start out from the best position possible. With my beauty and Mortimer's intellect, my child would have been guaranteed success. But Mortimer was old-fashioned. He wouldn't hear of fathering my child without the benefit of marriage. And then Bella turned up and ruined everything.

Me: Gee, Dina, I'm sorry, and Mortimer has passed on so there's no chance of him fathering your child now.

Dina: It's ok. I always have a Plan B.

Me: Don Lothario is your Plan B?

Dina: Yes. Don may not be as brilliant as Mortimer, but he is a doctor. He's also very attractive and charismatic. He would be a good donor for my child.

Me: But what about Nina? She's in love with Don. Whatever happened to sisters before misters?

Dina: Nina will be okay with it. She's not really looking to settle down with one guy anytime soon.

Me: It looks like we'll find out soon enough how okay she is with it. Welcome home, Nina. Congrats on your promotion.

Nina:Thanks. It's nice to be promoted, but I just work to pay the bills. Dina is the career-oriented one.

Me: Oh, snap! You just woohooed with him and he calls up your sister. That's gotta hurt.

Dina: Not really. I'm not looking for anything from Don other than his DNA.

Me: For not being career-oriented, you sure are racking up the promotions.

Nina: *shrugs*

Me: Well, Dina, it looks like your plan is in motion.

Dina: Please excuse me for a moment. *mad dash for the toilet*

Me: Another promotion. Well done, Nina!

Nina: Someone has to earn money around here. Dina still hasn't found a job in the Business field, and she's got a baby coming.

Me: It's generous of you to support your sister and your niece- or nephew-to-be, Nina, but don't forget to take care of yourself.

Nina: I won't. In fact, I'm having a few friends over tonight.

Me: Nina, I see you've made friends with quite a few of the townies.

Nina: Yes. It's rather strange, though. I have no problems making friends with the men, but the women in this town just don't seem to like me. I can't figure out why.

Dina: Trap you? Don, I'm not trying to trap you. I don't want to marry you. I don't even want child support!

Me: Nina, you and Waylon are getting close. You need to be careful. I wouldn't want either one of you to get your heart broken.

Nina: My heart is already broken, thanks to your Alphabet twist. I would be with Don now if it weren't for the rule that we can only marry Sims who have the same first initial as our own. There's no rule about woohoo, is there?

Me: No. You're free to woohoo with whomever you please.

Nina: Good. Woohoing with Don woke up something in me. I feel so alive and free. And I'm curious. I want to see if it's the same with other men.

Me: Waylon looks way too happy. Nina, you need to let him down gently.

Nina: I will. Did you know I was his first? I feel so honored.

Me: Uh-oh, this is gonna get ugly.

Dina: Speaking of firsts...I'm in labor over here.

Me: Wow, Dina. I admit I was skeptical at first, but Don was an excellent choice. Ethan is beautiful. He's one of the cutest Sim babies I've seen. As the first baby born in the Uber-hood, he'll always hold a special place in my heart.

Me: I see that Nina is holding the baby in the family portrait. I hope this isn't foreshadowing that Ethan is going to take a back seat to Dina's career.

Waylon: Congrats on your first baby, Dina!

Dina: Congrats on your first woohoo, Waylon!

Waylon: *mortified*

David: It is going to be tough being a single parent in this economy. You should really consider the financial benefits of marriage.

Me: I think he's applying for the position.

Dina: He barely knows me. We just met tonight.

Me: The Alphabet twist has all of the townies freaked out. It's hard enough for them to land a playable Sim. Now, they need a playable Sim who has the same first initial.

David: Your son will have a much better chance of growing up well in a two-parent home.

Dina: My, David, you really do believe in the hard sell, don't you?

Me: I should have one of the Bluewater Sims hire him.

Dina: First you think I was trying to trap you, and now you think I should marry you? You claim you're in love with me, my sister, and Cassandra Goth all at the same time. You're a piece of work, Don Lothario!

Me: You know, I think you should consider Don's offer. A father's influence could only be good for Ethan.

Me:At the risk of sounding like a broken record, you have had a great week at work, Nina.

Me: Dina, I thought you wanted to be a Business Tycoon.

Dina: I still do, but the week is about up and I still cannot find a business job. I can't expect Nina to support Ethan and me forever.

Me: Looks like you've got a love letter there, Nina.

Nina: It's from Waylon. Isn't he the sweetest?

Me: I thought you were going to let him down gently.

Nina: Oh, Waylon just likes writing poetry. He knows we're not serious.

Me: I take it Anthony knows you're not serious about him, either?

Nina: Of course, he does. We're just having fun.

Nina: Gosh, Waylon, going to P.U.R.E. sounds really fun, but tonight is my nephew's birthday party. Maybe some other time.

Me: *coughs* Stalker. *coughs*

Me: Happy Birthday, little Ethan! I look forward to seeing you more next round.

Dina and Nina were not as exciting to play as Don. The week was quite boring, and I had a hard time characterizing Nina. I'm happy with how the story turned out, though. The Brokes are up next. That should definitely be a busy week!
