ABCs or Bird and Bees?

If you've been following the blog, you know that I have an Alphabet Twist in which Sims can only marry Sims whose names start with the same letter. You also know that I recently installed ACR which gives Sims the ability to flirt, kiss, woohoo, and even try for a baby autonomously. Now that my Sims have their own mind about who they are attracted to, I'm wondering if I should drop the marriage portion of the Alphabet Twist. I will still use an alphabetic progression in naming Sims (i.e. a new baby's name will start with the next letter in the alphabet after the father's first initial). I will also still use a Sim's first initial to determine which college the Sim goes to (A-I go to Academie Le Tour, J-Q go to La Fiesta Tech, and R-Z go to Sim State).

What do you think? Does the Alphabet Marriage Twist add interesting drama? (The Nina-Don-Dina triangle comes to mind). Or should True Love really conquer all? Please post your opinion in the comments section of this post.

Thanks for Reading,

I personally find the Alphabet Twist hilarious! And it causes a lot of drama that wouldn't otherwise be there. I think you should keep it, and if they're SO in love that they want to marry, one of them should have to change their name so that the first letters match - that could be really funny :)

  2. Hmmm... I don't know. I've found that ACR can create its own drama if you mess with the settings so that sims can try for babies on their own, and they're highly autonomous. You might end up surprised at the outcomes.

Then again, having an idea of who you want your sims to marry does add tension between the player and the sims. XD

  3. Laura, having them change their names is a great idea! I might have to use that!

  4. Lunar Fox, I have enabled Auto Try For a Baby, and it definitely is causing drama. In an upcoming post, you'll see two of my Sims decide that they're going to procreate, Alphabet Twist or not!

  5. I know I'm late on commenting on this post...and I actually asked a question on the Pleasant update that you just answered here (about which college to attend)!

Anyhoo, I have been truly enjoying the Alphabet Twist in your hood. It's different and can definitely cause some drama. I can't wait to see what happens when you got to unique letters like X or U. So I would vote to stick with it.

  6. Well, Mary-Sue and Daniel had two babies again and their names do not start with the same letter, so...
