Round 1: Smith 1
The Curious Case of Jenny Smith
The Curious Case of Jenny Smith
Jenny Smith is surrounded by aliens. Not only did she grow up with two alien half-sisters, she also married an alien and gave birth to two half-alien children. Now her oldest is about to leave the nest. Let's see how Jenny and the rest of the Smiths are doing...
Me: Good morning, Smiths!
Jenny: It's not a good morning. My baby is leaving for college.Johnny: *facepalm* Mom, I'm not a baby. I'm 19. It's time for me to go.
Me: What do you plan to study, Johnny?
Johnny: Political Science. I'm going to become the Mayor of the Uberhood and abolish that oppressive rule that aliens have to live in Strangetown.
Me: That's a pretty noble aspiration. I wish you the best. Have fun at La Fiesta Tech.
Johnny: That's another thing I'm going to change. When I'm Mayor, aliens will be able to attend any college, not just La Fiesta Tech.
Me: Fight the power, brother!
Me: And suddenly there was only one child left.
Me: Aw, Jenny. I see you've adopted a kitten.
Jenny: Yes, this big house is so empty with Johnny gone. I think I'll fill it with kittens.
Me: Do you think it's a good idea to have kittens? Maybe you should have gone with puppies instead.
Jenny: Why would you say that?
Me: Well, you are married to an alien.
Jenny: He's not that kind of alien.
Jill: If you want to impress me on our first date, bring me flowers.
Me: Whoa, Jill! Don't you think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself?
Jill: Well, his first name starts with J, so he's going to be my husband, right?
Me: Possibly. But who knows? You may meet a townie or a dormie whose name also starts with J. Don't pin all your hopes on Justin yet.
Me: Jenny's sisters came to visit.
Jenny: Yes, it's Sunday, so I decided to invite all of my siblings over for dinner. I have a rather strange relationship with my sisters. They are also my stepdaughters.
Me: That's right. #9 is their dad... er, mother.
Jenny: Yes, he pollinated our father.
Me: That's a new one. Don Lothario is dating sisters, and I've heard of men dating both a mother and a daughter. But I've never heard of a man dating both a father and a daughter.
Jenny: Well, he didn't exactly date my father.
Me: Your brothers have arrived. It looks like they are teaching Justin how to smustle.
Jenny: My newest kitty has also arrived.
Me: Welcome, Venus. Hmm... I see a theme emerging.
Me: Of course, Earth is next. But Jenny there are only nine eight planets. You're going to run out of names before you get to the twentieth kitten.
Jenny: We'll move on to stars and constellations then.
Me: Ok.
Me: What have we here? Looks like the roomies aren't getting along.
Me: Hello, Mars.
Pascal: #9, your friends made a mistake. They pollinated me instead of Vidcund. My life is ruined.
Me: Oh, get over it already!
Jenny: Pascal, it will be ok. My Johnny is going to become Mayor, and soon aliens will be able to live any where in the SimWorld.
Me: Welcome, Jupiter...
Me: ... and Saturn. Well, Jenny you have six kittens, so you've reached the limit. You can't adopt any more until these grow up.
Me: And here's a shot of all the kittens together. Um, Jenny, is it a good idea to have the litter box right next to the buffet table?
Me: This family tree is so confusing.
Jenny: You need to keep studying it. You mixed up Chloe and Lola.
Me: *studying tree* Dang it!
Me: Ha, I got them right this time! Jenny, something just occurred to me.
Jenny: Yes?
Me: #9 was married to your dad, at least in the Biblical sense.
Jenny: I guess you could say that.
Me: So, #9 is kinda your stepdad.
Jenny: Uh-huh.
Me: And since you're the wife of your stepdad....
Jenny: I'm my own mom!
I really like the Curious-Smith family. Major kudos to the Maxoids who developed them! While I was playing the Smiths, the song "I'm My Own Grandpa" kept echoing through my mind. I was thrilled to find a YouTube video that featured that song and the Sims 2. It was pure serendipity!
The Grunts are up next, so stay tuned!
Ha ha - funny post as always - I was hoping for an update even though you warned that it would get scarce.
ReplyDeleteI love the Smith family too - it's how everyone is related to each other in a weird incest-y but not way.
Your Pascal is so funny while remaining in deep sulk - Questa is cutie!
The Curious-Smith family tree is very convoluted! I always liked the Smiths but found their house difficult to play, for some reason.
ReplyDeleteHa, I really liked the ALF reference. I used to love that show when I was a little one.
"Jenny: He's not that kind of alien."
ReplyDeleteHahahaha, I loved the Alf reference too. This family is SO interesting. And I see you had quite a good bit of material.
And the song will be stuck in my head for a while I think. XD
The Smiths are one of my favorite Maxis families, too. :-) I always start by giving Jenny Elixor of Life so that PT#9 can have his LTW of having 10 kids.
ReplyDeleteYay for the ALF reference!! That show was awesome. And the whole "I'm my other mom!" cracked me up. That's hilarious.
ReplyDelete@simsstate - LOL! Thanks. Yeah, there is something slightly incestuous about the Curious Smith tree.
ReplyDelete@Sullivan, Lunar Fox, and Mao - I couldn't resist the ALF reference. It's scary to think that show is about 20 years old!
@Deb - I thought about giving Jenny some elixir just to see if she would have a green baby. I've never had a green baby born in my game that wasn't a direct result of alien abduction
